PORTABLE FRIDGE MARRIAGE SAVER
Although this technically is not an RV modification , it is a ‘ marriage saver ’.
First , let me state that I love fishing , and a lot of the times when I go fishing I use bait which , more often than not , is frozen . We have a 190L three-way fridge with a large freezer compartment in our caravan , but there is no way on Earth that my wife will allow me to store my bait in ‘ her ’ freezer !
The simple solution is that we always carry our Waeco CF80 fridge-freezer in the rear of our tow vehicle to keep my bait and fish fillets in . I run it off the vehicle ' s battery en route to our destination to keep it cold , and then swap it over to 240V when we get to the caravan park .
Any time we need to disconnect the 240V lead to leave the park , we just switch it back over to 12V .
I can run the Waeco as a split fridge-freezer combo , or wholly as a large freezer if need be . Not only is it a great place to keep my bait in , we often load it up with drinks , food and even ice cream for the grandkids ( and me ) when doing day trips from the caravan park .
Having the Waeco in the rear of the tow vehicle means I can keep my bait and fish fillets frozen , and keep the wife happy by keeping it out of the caravan fridge .
