LETTERS FROM THE ROAD
WHAT TO DO ?
I am sure I am not the only person to be in this position , and therefore require helpful advice from your readers and yourself .
I lost my wife , the love of my life , to ovarian cancer , about 12 months ago . She fought the cancer for 4.5 years but could not overcome the problem . Together , we used to be so happy in our caravan during the holidays . We finally saved enough money to buy a secondhand Jayco Heritage pop-top ( with ensuite ), to be used in our retirement years , but unfortunately only got to use it for two weeks .
I am now considering what to do next . Do I sell it , or go on holidays on my own ? I am not looking for sympathy or another partner ; rather , just an answer to the question , are there other people out there on their own trying to continue on in life without their partner and still enjoy caravanning ?

Thanks for your letter . This is obviously a difficult decision , but to answer your question , yes , there are plenty of solo travellers from a variety of backgrounds and personal situations . Whatever you decide , I wish you all the luck in the world .

CARAVAN QUEEN
The most annoying thing , in my opinion , in caravan reviews is the description of the bed . Example : queen or king size . These really give no idea as to the size of the bed .
How about just giving the length and width ?

UTE AXLE LOADS
I appreciate your articles on load capacities . I do , however , think you should take this a step further and delve into maximum axle loads . It is quite easy to exceed these if you are not careful .
May I make an example of the Ram 1500 . Its rear axle load is 1770kg , even if you tow 4.5 tonnes . The Nissan Navara NP300 ’ s is 1750kg , the Ford Ranger ’ s is 1850kg . A trap , for sure .
