CHEAP SOLAR PANELS
It is a myth to suggest that all solar modules / panels are the same and so you might as well buy the cheapest you can ( per watt ). Cheap overseas labour is often used to assemble the cheapest panels , which are marketed under any number of names and flogged off cheaply on eBay . The result can be a solar panel that is only 10 to 15 per cent efficient , when the best solar panels are more like 18 to 20 per cent efficient .
So , if you ’ re serious about your RV ’ s solar panel system , don ’ t be tempted by cheap and cheerful panels – do some research and pay a little more for quality .

AFTERMARKET GREY WATER TANK
Are you considering fitting a grey water tank as an aftermarket item ? If so , does your caravan have the payload capacity to match ? Imagine carrying 100L of fresh water to your destination , and then ‘ harvesting ’ that 100L in your grey water tank . All well and good . But before setting off , you fill your fresh water tank while , for whatever reason , being unable to dump the grey water . The result : your van is carrying twice the amount of water than it was originally built for .
When buying a new van , it seems best to have any grey water tank installed by the factory , and doing your research before fitting one to a used van .
