The ZOLEO offers numerous benefits . The ability to send your contacts a quick ‘ Check-In / I ’ m Okay ’ message from anywhere allows your partner , mum or friends to pinpoint your exact location ( by GPS coordinates ) and view where you are instantly through the maps on their smartphone . And you honestly will be amazed at how simple this function is !
All you need to do is press the ‘ tick ’ on the top of the ZOLEO device or the tick on the associated app , and a message will be automatically generated , letting your contacts know you are safe . Cue happy cheers from all the mums of us wanderlust souls .
Add to that the ability to send and receive proper texts and emails from anywhere in the world , and even using emojis ! This function can also be used by contacts who do not have the ZOLEO app ! This means never missing an important conversation again , regardless of where you are or how many bars of phone or internet signal you have .
We also loved that the SOS button is hidden away on the ZOLEO device from little fingers , as our youngest likes to touch everything . And while it provides a similar outcome to what our EPIRB and PLB would , the ZOLEO unit allows multiple levels of contact and interaction , where other units do not . This means you can actually converse with emergency services in your time of need , which we think is absolutely golden !
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
The ZOLEO Global Satellite Communicator uses the Iridium satellite network , so you don ’ t have to rely on phone reception to stay in touch . Each device has its own corresponding number and email address that your contacts can reach you on via text message ( they can ’ t voice or video call you on it ).
