Crusader has built this van for free-camping , with twin 95L water tanks as standard plus a grey water tank for independent camping . On the roof are two 190W solar panels feeding a 120Ah lithium battery managed by a Projecta PM 200 system .
Danny explained that the CRV range was aimed at the camper trailer market . This van takes no time to set-up and it will be priced around $ 55,000 , which compares well with top-end campers .
The level of spec on this van is simply amazing for its size . Inside are twin single beds that can turn into a queen , a reasonably roomy combo shower / toilet room with a shaving cabinet and corner sink .
CRUSADER RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
It ’ s one thing to have a solid mechanical package and another to have a body that will
handle the rigours of travel . Crusader has adapted the full composite body system ( fibreglass , closed cell foam and fibreglass ) with proven results from existing models to the CRV range . This Crusader features a one-piece 39mm floor and 29mm walls and roof , which Crusader says will make it tough enough to handle all weather and terrain conditions .
This van is only 19ft 6in ( 5.95m ) in overall length , making it very compact indeed . With a body length of just 13ft ( 3.92m ) and a width of just 7ft 9in ( 2.23m ) including the awning , it ’ s an ideal size for most tow vehicles , hence the CRV tag . While CRV in the automotive world is a Compact Recreational Vehicle , in this case , it ’ s a Crusader Recreational Vehicle , although ‘ compact ’ would apply to this cutie .
There ’ s a good-sized kitchen complete with cooktop and grill , a reasonable 140L fridge , microwave , and plenty of cupboards filling the space . Of course there ’ s AC , a Sirocco fan , LED lighting … the list goes on .
With a Tare weight of just 1650kg and the ability to be set-up for most vehicles on the road , a special feature of this van is a payload option . For owners with a lower towing capacity , the payload can be set as low as 350kg , while higher-rated vehicles can be set as high as 1050kg .
While the interior seems small at first glance , it ’ s actually perfect for two people who would prefer to spend their time living outdoors , and with all its mod cons I can see this Gladiator being the flagship of the CRV range .
