PRACTICAL CHANGES Deb Lawson and her husband removed their van’s gas heater, since they have a ducted electric one, and replaced it with two muchneeded drawers. They also put a door on their ensuite basin’s cupboard to prevent items from falling out, and they even removed a locker door elsewhere in their van to make way for a microwave. Deb, it looks like you and your husband did a fantastic job! WATER WISE “We have a small offroad caravan.” Geoff Bailey told GoRV. “We've tapped into the van’s shower water supply with non-return valves. Provided we can find a jerry can of water during the day, we can have a hot shower in the van, supplied from the heat exchanger and pump in the vehicle, without contaminating our van’s tank water. The picture shows the connection point between the rear wall of the van and the spare wheel.” HOSE REEL TRICK Christine and Harry Loveridge reckon this water hose reel, which they mounted to the bumper bar of their caravan, is the ‘best thing since sliced bread’. “It saves a lot a headaches as there is no packing up or fighting with a hose,” they wrote.
