RV FEATURE There are camper trailers. And then there are camper trailers. You see, the BRS Pursuit Platinum, the top-end rig in the Pursuit line-up that’s built in Newcastle, NSW, is one of the most refined, well-sorted hybrids you are likely to lay your eyes on. The Pursuit is almost conceptual in appearance, without being too outlandish. It embraces the best of technology while remembering it has a job to do; that is, to keep its occupants comfortable and follow the 4WD into inhospitable corners of the country. The body is in two parts. The top ‘cone’ comprises a one-piece composite, hand-laminated fibreglass outer layer, a high-density foam core, and a smooth, high-gloss internal skin. The lower portion of the body, meanwhile, is made of a marine-grade alloy plate that’s CNC cut and fully welded. BRS has revised the camper somewhat since we first reviewed it, with updates including a 24in smart TV, an extra 40W of solar for a total of 360W, a re-worked toolbox with removable stone shields and secured jerry can holders, dual rear wood boxes, upgraded water storage in fibreglass tanks, and more. HITS check • Under-body protection – this camper has no vulnerable components • Overall fit and finish • The slide-out shower concept It’s a pricey camper, but here you definitely get what you pay for. • Internal storage and drawer fridges WHAT WE SAID MISSES Often enough, you can tell plenty about a van or camper by paying attention to the details. Poor joins, unsightly silicone and dodgy welds usually tell the story. But the Pursuit Platinum has none of these. If a well-rounded, comfortable, clever and well- built camper is what you’re after, don’t overlook the BRS Pursuit Platinum. times • Fitting the bathroom screen is fiddly. Could a future version have the screen as a permanent attachment? ORIGINAL REVIEW HOT PURSUIT / 21
