LEISUREFEST
– IT’S A WRAP!
VICTORIA’S SECOND LARGEST RV SHOW, HELD IN EARLY
OCTOBER, ATTRACTED MORE THAN 32,000 VISITORS.
Celebrity speakers Dr Katrina Warren and Merv
Hughes were crowd favourites at this year’s
Melbourne Leisurefest. Dr Warren spoke about
travelling with pets, while many showgoers siezed
the opportunity to have a friendly yarn with Merv.
“The stable of exhibitors continues to improve
and become more diverse every event,” Caravan
Industry Association of Victoria CEO Rob Lucas
said. “This year in particular we noticed and
appreciated the extra effort they went to in order
to give our visitors the best possible day out.”
The Passport to Freedom competition was as
popular as ever, with a family from Berwick, Vic,
taking home the major prize of the ‘Go Make
Some Memories Cash Fall’ of $5000 for their
next outdoor adventure, courtesy of the Caravan
Industry Association Victoria.
Naturally, some showgoers took advantage of
the fact that Leisurefest is a dog-friendly show.
“With 70 per cent of caravanners and campers
travelling with their pets these days and positive
consumer feedback from allowing dogs to attend
Melbourne Leisurefest in 2017, all our events are
now dog friendly,” Mr Lucas said. “Once again
it was an overwhelming success and enticed
some outdoor adventurers to attend Melbourne
Leisurefest who would not normally attend.”
