“ They managed to recover some of Adam ’ s cards ,” Louise said . “ They found them on a vacant house block and in a nearby drain . None of mine have shown up yet – I have no ID and no bank cards .”
Adam and Louise had saved for a year in order to take their trip . “ It was also our longest trip as it ’ s the first time we have had this much leave from work at the same time ,” she said . “ Otherwise it ’ s long weekends , Christmas and Easter . We even have a camping group on Facebook called ‘ Aldi Adventurers ’, because every time someone bought some new gear we would ask them where they got it … and the answer was usually Aldi !”
The Storeys have experienced many acts of kindness since the invasion and theft , but one really stood out to Louise . Upon visiting Esperance Stonehenge – a full-size replica of the mysterious attraction in the United Kingdom – the owner refunded their entrance fee after learning of their ordeal . “ She also insisted I take a handbag from her shop as I didn ’ t have one . I told her that I didn ’ t have anything to put in it anymore but she insisted . It ’ s people like her that will make our memories of Esperance good ones .”
