FUNNIEST EPISODE YET!
I’m An Instagram Model! That’s
the title of episode 15 of our
podcast, Rambling On.
Boating and fishing writer, long-
time camper and a very nice
guy, John ‘Bear’ Willis, joins
the crew to share his thoughts
on everything from sailfish
procreation to why flathead
fillets are so expensive to the
uses for toadfish (hint: there
really aren’t any).
As a passionate advocate for
the rights of fishermen, as well
as marine life sustainability,
Bear recounts the time he joined
forces with Green Peace to
battle against international drift
nets, which were up to 40km in
length. As Tim Smith says: “The
nets aren’t picky – they’ll take
everything.”
And getting rid of these drift
nets, Bear reckons, is one
reason gamefish have returned
to Victoria’s waters, making the
state one of the best places in
Australia to catch them.
And if it all sounds too serious,
we assure you: it’s a fascinating,
very funny, discussion.
MEET THE GANG
The Rambling On brains trust
is made up of GoRV’s editor,
Max Taylor, well-known comedian
Tim Smith, and Aussie actress
Paula Gardner. They’re kept in line
by Simon Diaz of Smooth FM.
It’s a lighthearted look at the
Australian RV lifestyle and a
fantastic way to while away an
hour behind the wheel.
