THE FRONT BOOT AUSSIE PAMPLONA ON ITS WAY Bailey Australia plans to assemble Bailey UK caravans on a specially designed, Australian- made chassis at its factory in Melbourne. Based on the successful ‘Bailey Of Bristol Unicorn IV Pamplona’ design, the ‘Australianised’ version will remain mostly untouched, though plumbing, appliances and the electrical system will be changed to meet local compliance requirements. According to Bailey Australia managing director, Adrian van Geelen, the new-look van will also feature greater ground clearance and payload capacity, larger water tanks, and a larger entry door. He said Bailey Australia recognised the original Pamplona was one of the company’s most successful model, though it did contain some design limitations. “It’s extremely important to us that this new EXCLUSIVE BMS FOR JAYCO BMPRO has released a new battery management system, the J35D, exclusively for Jayco. According to BMPRO, the lithium-compatible J35D has a charging current of up to 15A in ‘bulk’ mode and 30A in ‘boost’ mode. This multistage charger can be adjusted to a variety of battery chemistries, from lead acid to LiFePO4. “Jayco is highly respected within the Australian caravan industry for leading with innovation and delivering the best value-for- money to their customers,” BMPRO CEO Louise Bayliss said. 48 gorv.com.au Aussie Pamplona remains quintessentially British and as such it will look identical to the Unicorn IV with basically the same spec,” he said. “More than 50 alterations to the original Bailey UK caravans were completed in order to compensate for compliance and practical reasons.” The new-look Unicorn IV Pamplona is expected to be released towards the end of the year. BMPRO also supplies Jayco with its JHub system, an app-driven power management system that controls the on-board features, such as the lights, hot water and more, of a Jayco RV while managing incoming power, battery charging, tank levels and more.
