Cape Range campsites are well spaced out .
Another breathtaking Cape Range sunset .

CAPE RANGE NATIONAL PARK , WA

Just south of Exmouth is this popular seaside national park bordered by mountain ranges and the ocean . And with the Ningaloo Reef just offshore , it ’ s a snorkeller ’ s paradise . Wander into ankle-deep water to be greeted by coral fish keen to scavenge any food churned by foot traffic . Turquoise Bay is the best beach for swimming , with a big , white , sandy bay and clear , blue water , ideal for water activities . A unique feature is the Loop Beach where you snorkel near the shore admiring the reef fish as the current carries you out and drops you at the next bay . Snorkelling is best appreciated at the Oyster Stacks , accessing the water off a rock shelf .

COFFIN BAY NATIONAL PARK , SA

Easily our favourite beach campsite , the Coffin Bay National Park is a remote sandy peninsula with the far reaches accessible only by 4WD vehicle . It packages sublime beaches , towering sand dunes and sensational fishing . The township is home to a massive lease of Pacific oysters , which can be purchased straight off the boat for a super fresh stash . Stock up on oysters , food and beer before you hit the national park as it ’ s a long and bumpy return journey . Vans can park up at the Yangie Bay campground where the sealed road ends and day trip to the rest of the park .
