Golf Classic
The end of July means golf , networking and fun at Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress . The Annual Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress Golf Classic brings all of that and has become a tradition for investors , though it ’ s seen changes and grown through the years .
The prizes , relaxing day of golf and ability to network , however , all remain , as do the classic sponsors of Courtside Bar and Grill .
“ It ’ s really a great networking opportunity . People like the free beverages and food , and the 50-50 raffle . They like all of that ,” said Shea Greiner , director of investor relations for Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress .
A total of 28 teams of four participated in this year ’ s tournament . The only stipulation has been that you must be an investor of Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress to participate . However , with this year ’ s event , that was changed , and
is open to the community .
The tournament , which was the 81st annual outing for 2022 , has always been at The Club , an 18-hole golf course . It is a shotgun start with all of the teams on the course at once , although they all spread out throughout the course of the day . The next tentative date for the 82nd Annual Golf Classic is the last Friday in July , 2023 .
“ The tournament is a fundraiser for Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress , but it ’ s also a way for us to give back to our investors ,” Greiner said .“ It ’ s really just a fun and relaxing day where people can network with each other over golf .”
