Foster Park is named after George Foster , grandson of John Morrell , founder of Morrell Meat Packing . The park is located at East Main Street and Foster Avenue . The park has playground equipment , a shelter with a barbecue grill , picnic tables , restrooms and drinking fountains .
Franklin Park , next to the old Franklin School at Walnut and Second streets , offers picnic tables , disc golf and playground equipment .
Hamilton Park is an undeveloped area just off North Court Street between Highland and Woodland Avenues . It has an oak and hickory woodland landscape and a variety of wildlife .
Harmon Park is located at Main and Benton streets . It is an undeveloped green space along Ottumwa ’ s Main Street corridor .
Hillcrest Park is also known as Reservoir Park because of the large water tank buried beneath it . It is a two-acre neighborhood park at the crest of Court Hill on North Court Street . Hillcrest is equipped with a shelter , facilities for baseball and softball , basketball and tennis courts and playground equipment .
Jefferson Park is a two-acre park located at Jefferson and Gara streets . It is home to majestic cottonwood trees and has playground equipment , picnic tables and a basketball court .
Memorial Park is located at Jefferson and Elm streets under the water tower . The park is home to Merrill Cabin and a shelter which may be reserved . Playground equipment , a disc golf course , a four-mile mountain bike trail , picnic tables , barbecue grill are available . The park ’ s amenities include restroom facilities and drinking fountains . The 47-acre park has trails , bridges and ponds .
