This indoor / outdoor waterpark encompasses 13 acres and offers numerous opportunities for aquatic fun , including a wave pool , children ’ s play area , two curly slides , the speed slide , an indoor slide , competitive indoor pool , a floating obstacle course and sand volleyball . A $ 2.8 million renovation was completed in the spring of 2020 , bringing numerous improvements to the water park . The daily summer admission of $ 6 is well below the admission price of waterparks in larger communities . The indoor pools are open year-round , and staff are looking forward to a great season at The Beach in 2022 , beginning Memorial Day weekend . The facility also offers an array of swim classes and a fully stocked concession stand in the summer . It is also home to the Ottumwa High School boys and girls swim teams . Private parties also can be booked .

The Bridge View Center , opened in 2007 , is nestled on the banks of the Des Moines River and is the crown jewel for the city of Ottumwa . This beautiful 92,000-squar-foot events center hosts more than 500 events per year , including the annual Family Fest held in early March each year . This free event features both fun and educational experiences for children and families , including opportunities for children to climb into emergency vehicles , meet law enforcement
officers , enjoy an area of inflatables , travel to STEM Street for hands-on activities and take a healthy hike to learn all about wellness .
