cHOOSING THE RIGHT AGENCY

As Google began to roll out the Street View service as an extension to Google Maps the

next logical expansion has been to virtually

“see-inside” places of interest. Initially,

Google piloted the indoors program to

landmarks and select businesses within

target regions to allow users to

virtually navigate public sites and places.

With the roll out of Google Places Pages

(and derivatives), the program saw a rapid expansion of the initial pilot to include

larger metropolitan areas and smaller

businesses. To increase adoption, the

Business Photos Trusted Photographer

program was introduced. These

independent, Google certified

photographers were tasked with the sale, scheduling, and execution of Business

Photos tours. Today, 400+ photographers collectively represent the chosen

photography pool for any tour executed for

the Business Photos Program.

In late 2012, given the high degree of skills necessary to increase coverage, select companies were invited to participate, including LCP360. Geared towards higher unit sales and coverage, these agencies were allowed to expand geographic coverage to meet client needs, something not allowed for individual photographers. Today, the majority of these agencies specialize in metropolitan and sub-regional execution to increase awareness for small and medium sized businesses.
