Students are divided into groups of two.The
teacher writes a sentence on the board like ‘I
love learning English because my teacher is
fantastic.’.The students try to derive new words
from the letters in this sentence with their
deskmates on a piece of paper.The group that
writes the most words in a five minutes is the
first. Then the teacher writes these new words
on the board and ask students write a story
using this words with their deskmate in ten
minutes. The students read their stories and the
group who writes the story by using most of
these words is the first.
When the words are given in the form of a
contest or game, we can observe that the
words can be remembered more.
