Gavel Presented to ADA Vice President from Dr . Jay Wells and his wife at ADA Lobby Day

Dr . Jay Wells , III and Mrs . Leona Wells presented a special gavel to Michael Graham , American Dental Association Vice President , at ADA Lobby Day in Washington , D . C ., on March 22 , 2022 . The gavel ’ s significance dates back to its creator , Lorenzo Winslow , who was the White House architect for a 20-year period ( 1932-1952 ). Since the gavel had such a connection to Washington , Dr . Wells thought it was appropriate to bring it “ home ,” where it can be displayed at the ADA ’ s Washington office .
Chester Delaware Supports ADA Veterans Initiative

The American Dental Association ' s two-day Give Veterans A Smile Summit in May served as a kickoff to strategize and prioritize access to dental care and delivery of care to veterans across the country .
A group of organizations gathered to discuss their commitment and plan for a national database of charitable veterans ' oral health care programs ; facilitating the sharing of best practices … and ultimately determining whether there is a productive role for the ADA in ongoing access to care efforts for veterans .
Among the sponsors of the Give Vets a Smile Summit , the Dental Society of Chester County and Delaware County made a donation of $ 2,000 in support of this cause . In addition , our members from Chester-Dental have partnered with Community Volunteers in Medicine - CVIM to provide care during their Give Veterans A Smile Day .
