group huddled closer so we could communicate.
The English seminars proceeded very
well and soon rapport grew within each
group. We had teachers from villages,
towns and cities from the Region. Some
had been with us 5 years ago and were
returning for their required professional
development. It was a delight to reconnect with "old friends".

Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Our dear
friend has provided the formal invitation
since 2006. He gave an enthusiastic endorsement of the program to the 90+

The hall was actually a gymnasium. The
acoustics were terrible. No windows could
be opened. Our host at the site said that by
turning on the air exchanger, the air would
be better. When we did, the roar made it
even more difficult to hear each other.
Then we asked the host for a PA system to
see if this would help us communicate from
the front when all groups needed to be addressed. She had a karaoke system that had
a mike and speakers. We just needed to
continually restart it because after a pause,
it would shut off. Yes, we found ways to

We realized that we had not brought
enough Bibles. The first day, we had 97
registered. I thought of Justyn, who was
visiting his sister in London and sent an
SOS asking him to find 10 more Bibles
since he was not arriving until Thursday
and the Bibles would not be needed until the following Monday. Some who
were returning, brought the Bible we
had given them before. We had plenty
of Bibles for the second week.
For week 2, our general theme for our
English conversations changed to
"Teachers Strategies for Moral Development". Justyn opened each day with an
hour presentation on "Moral Development that builds a Society".
During this week, we used literature
from the Bible, both the Old and New
Testaments. The teachers were amazed
