Laurel County Life Center shifts focus to child care
For nearly 30 years , the Laurel County Life Center has been a beacon of hope for families with small children .
Established in 1995 , the Life Center began as a ministry offering alternatives to women facing unexpected pregnancies that were considering surrendering their child for adoption or who were considering

According to Executive Director Olivia Taylor , with the repeal of Roe v . Wade and Kentucky ’ s ban on abortions , the program has shifted its focus from preventing abortion to continuing to help families who need assistance with supplies and clothing for their children under age 2 .

We offer peer counseling and we can make a referral for adoption ,” she said .
The program has three major areas that assist families .
“ We have a Earn While You Learn program with online classes or in person ,” Taylor explained . “ We started the online classes last year . People earn points for classes and then redeem them in our store .”
