Science Daily reports that a decrease in annual screenings have contributed to a rise in metastatic prostate cancer diagnoses – prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body . Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed in men , and the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in men , after lung cancer , according to the AACR . The disease begins with abnormal cell growth in the prostate gland located in the pelvis .
