Kip Jervis has a new lease on life at age 60 following a widow maker heart attack late last year.
“ I want to live like I’ m dying every day for my next 30 years here,” the KJ Music Radio and The Light of London owner stated.
After serving four years and having just started a third term, Jervis announced his resignation from London City Council Jan. 22, in consideration of his health. Jervis had had the heart attack about a month prior, on Dec. 27.
Although it was a difficult decision for Jervis, it was one he came to after consulting with his cardiologist, Dr. Erin Kay Greer, and family. Jervis’ immediate family includes his wife Tammy, and two children, Elijah and Jazlyn.
“ It was certainly a decision I didn’ t come to lightly,” Jervis said of his resignation.“ However, it’ s ironic as can be, I care about my city to the point it was causing me undue stress.”
While Jervis hadn’ t previously experienced any heart issues, both of his parents struggled with heart health complications.
