Dea'isha to Sister
Well, sister, I'll tell you:
Life for me hasn't been a rolex.
It's had pinches in it,
And too big of chains,
And the wrong time,
And the places with no chain on the watch
No time.
But all the time
There's been a battery,
And day lights saving,
And it gets stolen and broken
And sometimes not ticking.
Where there hasn't been any glowing in the dark
So, girl, don't turn off the ticking
Don't set down the watch
Because you finds it's kind of hard
Stay smart about what you do
For it's still morning
It's still telling time
And life for me hasn't been a rolex.
