GOLF RESORT KARLOVY VARY (Carlsbad) The Golf Club Karlovy Vary was founded
in 1904 and it is the oldest golf club in the Czech Republic. Originally a 9-hole course,
however, due to the increasing popularity, construction of a brand new 18-hole golf
course in the area located near the small town of Olsova Vrata was decided. The Paris
architect C. Noskowski, was hired to layout the new 18-hole course in 1933. The course
underwent a rapid renovation in recent history, which included the building of a new
clubhouse, an irrigation system, and new tees. By undergoing this massive rebuilding,
the Karlovy Vary golf course was able to become one of the more prestigious European
golf establishments, as the club is also the venue for important European tournaments
such as the European Women’s Championship, the International European Women’s
Championship, the European Mid-Amateur Championship and the European Senior
Championship. Type: 18 holes; PAR: 72; Landscape: slightly hilly, parkland
ROYAL GOLF CLUB MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ (Marienbad) The opening of the Mariánské
Lázně (Marienbad) golf course was conducted by His Majesty King Edward VII on Au-
gust 21st, 1905. The golf club at Mariánské Lázně is the only golf course in Central
Europe with such a distinguished past. The King of England loved visiting Marienbad
and made a total of 10 trips to the golf course, the last in 1909. The greatest moment
in Golf Club’s history came in 2003, when HM Elisabeth II, Queen of the United King-
dom, has granted the Golf Club in Mariánské Lázně the right to use the title Royal Golf
Club. The Golf Course is surrounded by a pine forest. The surrounding picturesque
landscape is natural, not harmed by any construction nor buildings. Type: 18 holes;
PAR: 72; Landscape: slightly hilly, parkland
ASTORIA GOLF RESORT CIHELNY The championchip 18-holes, par 70 golf course in
Cihelny is located in the beautiful countryside of western Bohemia, and its creators
put it right into the scenic valley of the Tepla stream in the protected landscape area
of Slavkovsky forest. The decision to locate the course in this valley proved to be very
wise with regard to the weather conditions needed for playing golf. The Cihelny golf
course was designed by the world-famous Gary Player Design Company and has been
built in 2001. The area includes a complete training facility with 18-hole pitch&putt
“Honey course“, a Putting Green and a covered Driving range. Type: 18 holes; PAR: 70;
