The countdown has begun ! Spring is officially here and remarkably , Christmas is less than four months away ( wow time flies ), but that is not what I ’ m talking about . We are now only a few short weeks away from one of the greatest golf industry events in Australia this year – The 2017 GMA National Conference .
Be assured the event preparations are now ramping up to guarantee a bigger and better event than ever before . According to organisers , the early bird registration has seen more than 200 golf club managers , staff and industry delegates from across Australia / NZ signing up for this year ’ s conference .
Golf Industry Central is a proud Media Partner for this conference and will also be attending the various education and networking opportunities all week in Adelaide .
I hope to see as many of you there as possible as it is sure to be a valuable few days ! If you haven ’ t registered yetdon ’ t miss out and come along !
In this spring issue of our e-magazine we ’ ve focused on our neighbors in the New Zealand golf industry , battling membership decline and old perceptions of the sport much like here in Australia . We report on some of the great new initiatives the industry has created in order to help combat these challenges and keep growing the game .
October is Golf Month in Australia , and hopefully you have gotten involved again this year to promote all that golf offers to your local community as part of the national marketing campaign from Golf Australia and states .
I recently attended the PGA Expo on the Sunshine Coast which I cover in an article in this e-mag . I ’ m pumped up for this last part of 2017 and excited to share all that I experienced there with my various clients around Australia .
As usual , in this mag we also report on some of the great happening at clubs around the country , with Nelson Bay GC ’ s new clubhouse finally erected and in operation after a devastating 2016 Father ’ s Day fire – make sure to pay them a visit and check out the new community hub of Port Stephens .
At Golf Industry Central we hope you ’ re enjoying the warmer weather around the country – on and off the golf course , and as always , we hope you will enjoy these articles and course developments around the region .
Please feel free to drop me a line if you ever need any marketing and recruitment assistance on what you may be undertaking at your facility or business .
