Male , VIC : “ I work at a High School and I am going to share the bug with every single student at the school by walking the corridors chipping rubber balls around with my pitching wedge . When any student asks me why ? I am going to say ‘ coz its GOLF MONTH !’ and that everyone one should give golf a go now footy and netball season is over and invite them to challenge me to a chipping comp on the oval at lunch times for a free canteen voucher if they can beat me !”
Female , WA : “ I will share the golf bug with my partner Krissy . She says she hates golf as its too indulgent but secretly I know she loves it and just won ’ t allow herself the down time to play ( she ’ s a workaholic & does heaps for others - which is the real reason she doesn ’ t have time to play ). I know this trip would get her to the tipping point to let herself go , spend more time doing things for herself instead of everyone else ( me included ) & embrace the ‘ golf bug ’ not fight it !!!”
Female , NSW : “ Going to share with my bestie Sarah . We are both female professionals in our 30 ’ s that love sport and travelling . I have only recently taken up golf in the last 12 months . We have both observed that the guys our age that play golf were encouraged to try golf whilst at high school or by their dads and that we didn ’ t get this opportunity . Whilst the only women we know playing golf are retired .... Sarah has always been super sporty into tennis , skiing and surf lifesaving but hasn ’ t had the time to commit to golf . She is starting a career break October long weekend so it is perfect timing to introduce her to the sport that is driving me mad .”
Male , VIC : “ My 9 year old golf-mad son got me into golf as an adult in order to spend time with him . We play every weekend rain , hail , shine and when I was in a coma in hospital recently he held my hand every day talking to me about how much he wanted me to get better so we could go play golf ! Now I ’ m better and could think of nothing better than sharing the golf bug with him on HIS ultimate golf adventure ”
