Course Updates $550K INVESTED IN THE MOORE PARK GOLF DRIVING RANGE Australia’s most popular driving range will receive a $550k makeover, funded by the Centennial Parklands. The outcome will provide the community with a more enjoyable, relaxed and entertaining experience for all users. Works will commence Tuesday 7th October and will include: • Extension of poles and range netting on southern side of the range • Outer field light globe replacement • Painting works – roof, pillars, fixtures, roller shutters • Upgrade to all handrails and security grills • Grass replacement on front ection of s the range (up to 50m) • New outer field targets In case you missed this… In what is believed to be a world first in the golf industry, Moore Park Golf has installed a giant LED screen on our driving range to provide a host of new entertainment options to our visitors, members and golfing enthusiasts. The high definition screen will be used for a range of golfing coaching, events, golf activity and entertainment, including: • • • • • live large group golf tuition with real time camera feed of the golf pro on the screen; live demonstrations from golf equipment manufacturers; screening of major sporting events; social media interaction with capabilities for live tweets to be shown on screen; and ability to customise content for golf, corporate and coaching events. The new addition to one of Australia’s best public golf courses is 6.6m in height, and features a 22m2 screen, a custom-built protective net and weighs 6.2 tonnes. It is secured by 2m long ground screws and will screen at an HD 720P quality. • Replacement of safety netting on top/ middle levels • Upgrade to range mats and the introduction of 4 auto tee ball dispensers • Upgrade of ball reticulation system • Easy access credit card payment systems integrated in ball dispensers on the range • New furniture Golf Industry Central Spring 2014 31
