AUSTRALASIA NEWS Golf club rescue plan The Forbes Advocate reports the Forbes Golf Clubhouse will be placed on the market and golfers will pay a levy to fund a new greens renovation program for the course, under plans to restore the ailing club and course to its former glory. Golfing members met at the Forbes Golf Club’s auditorium last month to hear FGA’s two-pronged presentation to improve the course and secure the future of the sport in Forbes. About 120 golfers and other interested parties attended the meeting to hear the presentation, which was chaired by FGA president, Andrew McDonald. Forbes Services Club chairman Dennis Butler also attended the meeting and revealed the Services Club’s plans to place the Golf Clubhouse on the market in the near future.
