PGA to support GMA conference The PGA of Australia has signed on as a major sponsor of the 2013 GMA national conference. PGA of Australia CEO Brian Thorburn said the PGA was delighted to be a major sponsor of the GMA national conference. “The PGA looks forward to the opportunity to work alongside both GMA and its members,” he said. “It is hoped the conference will give the PGA a platform to engage with GMA members, providing up-to-date information on the services and programs available to clubs and managers around the country from both the PGA and PGA members. “With the Australian golf club landscape consistently evolving, and the PGA and GMA sharing many similar objectives, the PGA hopes this sponsorship will go a long way to enhancing opportunities for collaboration at both a club and organisational level. “The PGA looks forward to the opportunity to work alongside both GMA and its members,” said PGA of Australia CEO Brian Thorburn “Like the PGA, GMA is an integral organisation for Australian golf and we welcome the opportunity to support and engage with club managers and administrators at the conference. “Our diverse industry is rapidly evolving and, as both organisations face the challenges and opportunities ahead of us, we look forward to forging a closer relationship with Golf Management Australia for the benefit of the members of both organisations.” GMA president David Burton said GMA was grateful for the PGA’s support. “This is the first occasion that the PGA has supported GMA at its biennial conference and we are very grateful for their support,” he said. “GMA and the PGA share many common interests including representation on the AGIC (Australian Golf Industry Council) and it is pleasing that they have joined Golf Australia in providing industry sponsorship.” Golf Industry Central Autumn 2013 15
