PGA to support GMA conference
The PGA of Australia has signed
on as a major sponsor of the 2013
GMA national conference.
PGA of Australia CEO Brian
Thorburn said the PGA was
delighted to be a major sponsor of
the GMA national conference.
“The PGA looks forward to the
opportunity to work alongside both
GMA and its members,” he said.
“It is hoped the conference will
give the PGA a platform to engage
with GMA members, providing
up-to-date information on the
services and programs available
to clubs and managers around the
country from both the PGA and
PGA members.
“With the Australian golf club
landscape consistently evolving,
and the PGA and GMA sharing
many similar objectives, the
PGA hopes this sponsorship
will go a long way to enhancing
opportunities for collaboration at
both a club and organisational
level.

CEO Brian Thorburn
“Like the PGA, GMA is an integral
organisation for Australian golf
and we welcome the opportunity
to support and engage with club
managers and administrators at
the conference.
“Our diverse industry is
rapidly evolving and, as both
organisations face the challenges
and opportunities ahead of us, we
look forward to forging a closer
relationship with Golf Management
Australia for the benefit of the
members of both organisations.”
GMA president David Burton said
GMA was grateful for the PGA’s
support.
“This is the first occasion that the
PGA has supported GMA at its
biennial conference and we are
very grateful for their support,” he
said.
“GMA and the PGA share many
common interests including
representation on the AGIC
(Australian Golf Industry Council)
and it is pleasing that they have
joined Golf Australia in providing
industry sponsorship.”
