Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara
We are proud to honor Assembyman Angelo
Santabarbara for his effortless work and dedication
in improving the lives of individuals on the
Autism and Special Needs Spectrum.
Angelo Santabarbara is a first generation Italian-
American and a lifelong resident of Schenectady
County, currently residing in the Town of
Rotterdam. He and his wife are raising their two
children there.

Assemblyman
Angelo Santabarbara
After graduating high school, Angelo served in the
United States Army Reserves and then graduated
from SUNY Albany. He is a Professional Engineer
by trade and was first elected in 2007 to the
Schenectady County Legislature, where he served
as Chairman of the Transportation Committee.
Angelo served on the Board of Directors for the
Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region and
is the founder and first commander of
the AMVETS Post 35 in Rotterdam.
He was first elected to the New York State
Assembly in 2012 for the 111th Assembly District,
which includes Montgomery County and parts of
Schenectady and Albany counties.
He is the Chair of the Subcommittee on Autism
Retention and serves on the Agriculture, Energy,
Government Employees, Mental Health, Racing &
Wagering, and Veterans’ Affairs committees.
