«Έπιασα μολύβι σε ηλικία τριών ετών, ζω-
γραφίζοντας σε κάθε επιφάνεια του σπι-
τιού Ινδιάνους, νεράιδες και πειρατές. Τα
πρώτα χρόνια της ζωής μου έζησα στη
Μύκονο και μεγάλωσα στην εξοχή, σε
άμεση επαφή με την αγριάδα της φύσης
και της θάλασσας. Καθώς μεγάλωνα, το
θέμα που μου κέντρισε το ενδιαφέρον
ήταν το γυναικείο πρόσωπο και η έκφρα-
ση της γυναικείας ψυχοσύνθεσης μέσα
από πορτραίτα με pop, σουρεαλιστικά
φόντα. Τα έργα μου έχουν την πατρίδα
της κάθε γυναίκας που απεικονίζω. Μαζί
με το πρόσωπο, κουβαλάνε τον πολι-
τισμό, τον χαρακτήρα και την αγριάδα
κάθε τόπου και κάθε ανθρώπου».
H Ευγενία Γρυπάρη επαναλαμβάνει την ατο-
μική έκθεση με θέμα την «αγριότητα» στην
Αίθουσα Στέφανου Συριώτη από 1-10/9/19,
παρουσιάζοντας γυναικείες μορφές σε μια
δυναμική έκφραση ελευθερίας, ανεξαρτησί-
ας και θυμού της σύγχρονης γυναίκας.

“The first time I held a pencil in my
hand I was just three years old,
sketching Indians, fairies and pirates in
every possible surface of my home. I
spent the first years of my life in
Mykonos, growing up in the countryside,
in direct contact with the wildness of the
land and the sea. As I got older, the
theme that intrigued me was the female
face and the expression of the female
psyche through portraits with pop,
surrealistic backgrounds. My paintings
have the birthplace of each woman I
depict. Along with the face, they carry
the culture, the character and the
ferocity of each place and each person.”
The atomic exhibition of Evgenia Grypari
regarding “wildness” is repeated at
Stefanos Syriotis Hall (1-10/9/19),
showcasing female figures in a dynamic
expression of freedom, independence
and anger of the modern woman.
