Η ομαδική έκθεση σύγχρονης τέχνης “The Palace at 4 a.m.”
αναδεικνύει τα κοινά στοιχεία που εκτείνονται σε διαφορετικές
χιλιετίες, πολιτισμούς και ηπείρους.

The group exhibition of contemporary art “The Palace at 4 a.m.”
showcases commonalities spanning different millennia, cultures
and continents.
Με την ομαδική έκθεση σύγχρονης τέχνης The Palace at
4 a.m., ο Οργανισμός ΝΕΟΝ και η Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων
Κυκλάδων συνεχίζουν τη συνεργασία τους για το καλοκαίρι
2019. Η έκθεση πραγματοποιείται στο Αρχαιολογικό
Μουσείου Μυκόνου και εμπνέεται από τις συλλογές του
μουσείου. Το ξυλόγλυπτο έργο του διάσημου καλλιτέχνη
Alberto Giacometti, “The Palace at 4 a.m.” (1932),το οποίο
απεικονίζει μια κυρίαρχη τοτεμική οντότητα κάτω από
την οποία ξεδιπλώνονται οι φιγούρες μιας γυναίκας, ενός
πουλιού και μιας σπονδυλικής στήλης, ήταν η έμπνευση
για τη συνύπαρξη 32 παγκόσμιων έργων, 13 σύγχρονων
καλλιτεχνών από όλο τον κόσμο, με τα αρχαία εκθέματα,
οι μύθοι των οποίων στοιχειώνουν τον χώρο εδώ και δυο
χιλιετίες. Σύμφωνα με την Iwona Blazwich, Διευθύντρια της
Whitechapel Gallery του Λονδίνου και συνεπιμελήτρια της
έκθεσης μαζί με την Ελίνα Κουντούρη, Διευθύντρια του
ΝΕΟΝ, το οποίο συμπράττει για άλλη μια φορά με την ΕΦΑ
Κυκλάδων, η συνύπαρξη αρχαίων και σύγχρονων έργων
αποκαλύπτει κοινές ευαισθησίες, φόβους και επιθυμίες.
Η έκθεση θα διαρκέσει έως 31/10/19.

ΝΕΟΝ Organization and the Ephorate of Antiquities of
Cyclades continue their collaboration for the summer of 2019
with the group exhibition of contemporary art “The Palace
at 4 a.m.”. The exhibition is inspired by the collections of the
Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, in which it is hosted. The
wooden sculpture by the famous artist Alberto Giacometti,
“The Palace at 4 a.m.” (1932), depicting a dominant totem
entity under which the figures of a woman, a bird and a
spinal column unravel, was the main inspiration for the co-ex-
istence of 32 international works by 13 contemporary artists
from all over the world with the ancient findings on display,
the myths of which haunt this place for over 2000 years.
According to Iwona Blazwich, Director of Whitechapel Gallery
in London and co-curator of the exhibition together with Elina
Kountouri, Director of ΝΕΟΝ, that once again cooperates
with the EoA of Cyclades, the coexistence of ancient and
modern artefacts is revealing of shared sensitivities, fears and
desires.
The exhibition will last until 31/10/19.
