Σύμβολο του νησιού και κορυφαίο δείγμα
τηνιακής λαϊκής αρχιτεκτονικής. Περιστε-
ριώνες θα δείτε παντού, καθώς πάνω από
600 υπάρχουν στο νησί, «σπαρμένοι» σε
ρεματιές, λόφους και χωράφια, χρωμα-
τίζοντας το τηνιακό τοπίο με παράδοση.
Χτίστηκαν με ασβέστη και σχιστόλιθο
από Τηνιακούς, εμπνευσμένους μάστορες
κατά τον 18ο και 19ο αιώνα, με σκοπό την
εκτροφή περιστεριών για το νοστιμότατο
κρέας τους. Έντεκα καλοδιατηρημένα
περίτεχνα λευκά σπίτια για τα πουλιά
της Αφροδίτης, «απαντώνται»
στην πράσινη κοιλάδα του Ταρα-
μπάδου. Symbol of the island and top carving sample
of Tinos folklore architecture. You will see
dovecotes everywhere, as more than 600 of
them are on the island, «sown» in ravines,
hills and farmland, coloring the Tinian
landscape with tradition. Built with
lime and slate from the inspirational
villagers during the 18th and 19th
century, aiming to raise pigeons
for their tasty flesh. Eleven
well-preserved intricate
white houses for birds of
Venus are located in
the Green Valley of
Tarampados.
