AMORGOS
Το νησί του απέραντου γαλάζιου
βρίσκεται στο νοτιοανατολικό άκρο
των Κυκλάδων και απέχει 136 ναυτικά
μίλια από τον Πειραιά. Έχει μακρόστενο
σχήμα, απότομη ορεινή μορφολογία
εδάφους και δύο φυσικά λιμάνια σε
αντίθετες κατευθύνσεις, τα Κατάπολα
(στα δυτικά) και την Αιγιάλη (στα βορει-
οανατολικά). Πρωτεύουσα της Αμοργού
είναι η λαβυρινθώδης Χώρα, από τις
ωραιότερες του Αιγαίου, χτισμένη στην
καρδιά της ενδοχώρας ανάμεσα σε
μικρούς λόφους και γύρω από το
ενετικό κάστρο. Το νησί διαθέτει ένα
οργανωμένο δίκτυο σηματοδοτημέ-
νων μονοπατιών, προσφέροντας έναν
εναλλακτικό τρόπο περιήγησης. Μέσα
από απίστευτες διαδρομές ανάμεσα σε
γραφικά ξωκλήσια, ξερολιθιές και
παλιούς οικισμούς, ο πεζοπόρος μπορεί
να θαυμάσει τις Κυκλάδες και το μπλε του
αρχιπελάγους σε όλο τους το μεγαλείο.
The island of the Big Blue is located at the
southeastern tip of Cyclades, 136 nautical
miles away from the port of Piraeus.
Oblong-shaped, with steep mountainous
grounds, it has two natural harbors located
in opposite directions, Katapola (to the west)
and Aegiali (to the northeast). The capital
of Amorgos is the labyrinthine Chora, one of
the most beautiful of the Aegean, built at the
heart of the mainland among small hills and
around the Venetian Castle.
Amorgos boasts an organized network of
marked trails, offering an alternative way of
touring the island. Through amazing routes
and among quaint Orthodox chapels, rubble
walls and old settlements, hikers can relish
the views of Cyclades and the blue of the
archipelago in all their magnificence
