The RSM Classic
H
osted by 21-time PGA TOUR
Champion, 2017 World Golf
Hall of Fame inductee, and
Golden Isles resident Davis Love III, The
RSM Classic has become a highly anticipated
annual event, drawing top players and
spectators to the Sea Island Golf Club for
challenging play plus family activities and
entertainment.
For the PGA TOUR player who
travels upwards of 50,000 miles a year,
The RSM Classic has become a working
vacation. For players like Matt Kuchar, Zach
Johnson, Keith Mitchell and a host of other
PGA TOUR players, it’s an opportunity
to showcase their hometown seaside
community. And for spectators, the laid-
back vibe means gorgeous scenery, Southern
hospitality, and the chance to watch a PGA
TOUR event in an intimate venue.
Davis Love III’s vision for the event
in his hometown has been simple: Give
players an enjoyable but demanding test at
Sea Island Golf Club, and do it in a relaxed
setting that offers a wonderful experience
for pros, their families, caddies, sponsors,
volunteers, media and spectators.
From exciting play during the day to
popular sold-out events in the evenings,
The RSM Classic offers numerous ways to
have fun on and off the course. The annual
Tuesday night Wiffle® Ball game, benefiting
Blessings in a Backpack, sees friendly,
yet spirited competition between PGA
TOUR players and their wives. Saturday
night brings entertainment that is anything
but subpar. The RSM Concert Event has
featured headliners and country music
superstars including Jake Owen, Cole
Swindell and Darius Rucker.
The RSM Classic has impacted the
lives of thousands in the Golden Isles
and across the nation through charitable
contributions totaling more than $13
million since its inception. The Davis
Love Foundation was established in 2005
to support local, regional, and national
community-based programs that focus on
children and families.
“Our Foundation is committed to
positively impacting children and family
charities through the dollars raised by
The RSM Classic,” said Davis Love III.
“It is our privilege to continue the PGA
TOUR’s tradition of giving back.”
