Hats off to
Northern Lights Peruvian Horse Club
Celebrating their 25th anniversary!
Origin: The Peruvian Horse is descended from the prized horses of the Conquistadors. These horses were chosen for their
easy riding lateral four-beat gait. The “paso llano” which literally means “smooth way of going,” allows the rider to spend
many hours in the saddle without tiring. Conquistadors brought these horses to the New World. In Peru, the breed was
developed and refined for 400 years before making its debut in North America.
The Peruvian Horse is as prized for its good looks as it is for its elegant way of going. It is known for its long flowing
mane and tail. With its eager spirit and gentle nature, this horse is willing to work and please his rider. If you want a horse
that is beautiful to look at, smooth to ride and easy to handle, the Peruvian Horse is the one for you.
