Kazakhstan has been recognized as a leader in nuclear nonproliferation and remains a model for other countries. Three years ago, the UN General Assembly supported my suggestion to observe August 29 as the International Day against Nuclear Tests. All of this is a testament to the recognition of Kazakhstan’s role in global politics. To face changes in the global economic climate, realising clearly that the desired spot is guaranteed only to those with the strongest economies, seven key directions have been given. The Government will need to focus on deficit reduction, inflation control, new monetary policy and efficient fund investments. A new system of managing natural resources should also be developed, in which a special strategy will define priorities and partners. The Government must also develop a thorough plan for the next phase of industrialisation. The objective is that the share of non-energy export in total export must double by 2025, and triple by 2040. New Principles of Social Policy Comprehensive Support of Entrepreneurship Education is a key element to reach this goal. Knowledge and professional skills are the pinpoints of the modern system of education and training of young personnel. Kazakhstan should become a highly intelligent and well-educated nation. Otherwise, we will not be able to achieve our ambitious goals.
