NEW ARTIST AMANDA JONES INTERVIEW ROCK BAND "BOYSLIKEGIRLS" HELP BIRTH A NEW ARTIST AN INTERVIEW WITH AMANDA JONES BY RAYE Amanda Jones is an independent 21 year old pop singer/ songwriter from Portland, Oregon. She got her start by performing at coffee shops at the age of 13 and then moved on to opening for Cimorelli, R5 and more. She recently released her debut EP "Brand New Day" which was written/produced by the members of the band BoysLikeGirls. Learn more about Amanda below and watch her latest video on the next page. Q. Describe Amanda Jones in one sentence. Pop singer/ songwriter spreading positivity through music. Q. What made you get into the music industry? AJ:: When I was in first grade I started writing poetry, and that turned into singing what I would write. I saw the movie Annie for the first time and it was a game changer for me! Q. Where did the concept for " Wait For Me Tonight" come about? I got to cowrite this song with Morgan and John from Boys Like Girls. A friend of mine seems to always be going through a pretty bad breakup, and I channeled what her experiences have been into the song. For the video, we brainstormed some ideas and decided to go with disposable camera flashbacks. Q. What are your plans for the summer? AJ:: I'm shooting lots of new covers and music videos, so be on the lookout! Q, How did your EP produced by members of Boys Like Girls come about? AJ: A couple of the members came to Portland on an acoustic tour, and I was the opener. One of them walked in Q, What is your go to summer tips for girls? on my sound check and was like "girl can sing!" Long story AJ: Comfy clothes are the way to go. I'm all about flowy short, this led to going to LA and writing/ recording with tops and dresses for summer! them. So much fun!
