How did you get started?
I have always loved to entertain my family and friends with putting on shows as often as possible. When I turned seven I asked my parents for acting classes and they signed me up. I got my official start in acting after the IMTA (International Model and Talent Assoc.) competition in New York! It was a lot of fun, going to the Big Apple and doing monologues and scenes. I have received several awards which confirmed to my mom that maybe we should pursue my talents. I have also received callbacks for meetings with agents and managers. This was the official start of my whole acting adventure.
What has been your favorite thing about moving to LA?
I love the opportunities to perform! Whether it be acting or singing, I love how there are so many different things I can do! I act, I sing, I have my own YouTube channel called Kacey Fifield Variety where I film and edit my own videos. There are so many different outlets to entertain! And I love making people smile and feel deeper emotions. I also love the weather and the outdoors, beaches and hiking.
Did your love for music come first or acting?
I would have to say both, when I was younger I would always put on small "musicals" for my family where I would sing and act, improvising a whole show! I love acting and becoming all these different characters. But when I act I portray other characters, not always myself. I also love singing my original music and express myself through songwriting. When I sing, I am Kacey and my emotions are real. That’s why I love both, acting and singing so much!
What is your writing process like?
Usually, I work on the lyrics and help my music producer with the melody. My music producer and I sit down, he starts playing the piano and I start singing what comes to my head. We work together on suggestions and ideas bouncing off each other. Sometimes that process takes an hour or two and sometimes a few sessions. I have a few songs written that are waiting for the right melody to come to us.
What has been your favorite role to play?
I really appreciate all my roles. Each character is different and it's really interesting becoming each of those characters on screen. I've played a huge variety of characters and it would be impossible to compare them and chose just one. I do have a dream role in mind and hopefully I can play that role someday soon! I also like being myself so I would love to have my own show someday.
