Meet the very funny, Carla Jimenez who kills the role of Alba on 'The Mick'. In her acting career she has played six nurses, at least one maid, and three characters named 'Rosa' on sitcoms like ABC's "Desperate Housewives," FOX's "Raising Hope," NBC's "Last Man Standing" and the comedy film NACHO LIBRE.

How did you get your start in the industry?

I grew up doing theatre, then I found an agent through some theatre I was doing in Glendale, CA. From there I started doing commercials, which eventually grew to fantastic film and television roles.

What is your favorite on set memory from anything you been in?

I think one of my favorite memories from being onset of “The Mick”, would be in the episode "The Sleepover." It was so much fun having Scott MacArthur's character Jimmy mark up my face with a sharpie and just walking around with it. It was pretty funny and made me and everybody on set laugh.

What about 'The Mick' made you say yes to the script?

I think everything about the script made me say yes! I loved my character. She's a real type of person who gets to think and feel all these different ways and gets to do all these outrageous things, but more importantly I love the writing, the story, and all the other characters and I think that is so important. You want to go into this doing something you love and I feel that I was very fortunate and lucked out with this particular pilot.

Are you anything like your character ‘Alba’ in real life?

I think the only similarities between Alba and I, is our loyalty to others. Other than that I think she's a little more outrageous than I tend to be. I'm very much a homebody. I like to be close to family and friends and I think Alba wants a bit more of a party right now haha.

On Bullying:

I challenge those girls who witness it to stand up for those who are being bullied. For the girls who are being bullied, I hope they find the strength within themselves to stand up for what they believe in and to not let others put their negative influence on them. When someone bullies you, it's because they're afraid of themselves. They're afraid of the light that you have within you & they want to destroy that to make themselves feel better. So don't let them.

What is your take on body shaming and how do you deal with Hollywood’s standard of the 'Perfect Body'?

I think there is so much pressure to be "perfect" but what does that mean? You are never going to please everyone, so LOVE YOURSELF! I hate body shaming, it's another form of bullying. It's telling people "because you don't fit my perception of what perfect is, you are not good enough" BUT I SAY SCREW THAT!

The "perfect body" is the one filled with love and humanity for your fellow man. It's being a source of joy & positivity. Every shape & color is perfect. YOU, reader, as you read this are PERFECT! No one should ever tell you what's best for YOU!

I don't listen to Hollywood or anyone's standards of "beauty." I listen for the beauty within...and that makes me beautiful on the outside as well.
