What made you decide music was for you?

I’ve always loved music. I started playing piano when I was 4 years old, and have had a passion for music as long as I can remember. I think one of the things that’s always been attractive to me is how music is an outlet of expression. You can listen to something and feel a connection, hear a story which you’ve experienced. That’s why people say music is a “universal language,” because it brings people together.

Do you ever want to venture to other things like acting or modeling?

I’ve never thought about it, haha. Right now I’ve just been focusing on the music and trying to get my image out there, but I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to either in the future.

What do you like to do outside of music?

When I’m not doing music, I’m usually just hanging out with friends or family. I also like to play tennis and workout.

Where was your debut single inspiration taken from?

I like to think that there are two types of songs that I write: ones that come from an exact moment, person, or thing and ones that are a combination of things that indirectly influence my writing. With “My Name” it was the second type. I can’t really place it back to a particular instance, but to ways that I was feeling and things that were on my mind.

5ow was the video making process for you?

it was a really fun experience. I had never acted before and neither had the girl who starred in the video (who is a friend of mine). We just had fun with it and let it happen naturally. The director, Chris Zino, did a really good job capturing it.

What can fans expect when they hear your debut EP?

Less childish for sure. Other than that, I want it to be a surprise!

Are you doing anything special to release your EP?

Still in the process of figuring out how I want to release it, but will be making that decision soon.

What was the best advice giving to you about being a new artist?

Work hard. It’s not easy to make it, and you never will if you don’t have the work ethic. Lots of people want to succeed as an artist, but there are only a few that make it. Hard work determines that.
