Sociable.

Being in a class and dancing with other people creates an irresistible surrounding of love. It allows you to create new friendships with people who have similar interests to you whilst gaining experience working within a team.

Having a friend who is interested in the same exercise as you is incredibly helpful. It actually makes you strive to be better than you are and work harder which will leave a positive impact on you.

It’s fun.

Dancing is definitely fun! Much more than a run on a treadmill. Also, dancing can release hormones like serotonin and endorphins which will make you feel good. When you are dancing you probably won’t feel like you are even doing exercise because you aren’t thinking about that aspect. You are thinking about having fun or getting a particular move right.

If you are enjoying the exercise you are doing then it will increase your motivation to want to do it more often and to try harder. Competitions and festivals are always happening within the dance world. This gives you something to work towards if you are creating a dance or being a participant in one. Dance manages to keep you in shape whilst still being fun and exciting.

Builds your confidence.

Being a dancer has a big influence on your confidence and your view on things in life. It forces you out of your comfort zone into another place, especially in performances in front of large crowds. Dancing allows you to become a different person, to act like you are someone else or act like you’re in a completely different situation than you are currently in. When performing you are taken to a world so different from the one you are in which is a lot more heightened which creates a healthy self-esteem boost. Dance creates friendships with people with similar goals which enables each of you to boost each other up in times of uncertainty.

So, if you were on the verge of wanting to try dance of any genre, then definitely go for it! As you can see it has so many benefits which you can carry through life forever.
