I got the idea for Songwriter Girl while at a talent convention. I was asked to speak on songwriting and realized there wasn’t an event dedicated to girls and women about songwriting.
I had learned so much during my time in Nashville, from co-writing with amazing writers, to performing and having chart success. I wanted to share what I knew and help girls and women become empowered in their creativity.
Songwriter Girl has taken me around the world, teaching workshops, mentoring artists and performing my own original songs. We’ve been to Germany, Alaska, and Los Angeles, just to name a few fabulous places.
Becoming a successful songwriter is no accident. It takes years of hard work, dedication and commitment. But, I believe that every person has creative gifts. And through my vision for what I could offer with Songwriter Girl, I knew I could be inspiring and be a mentor to girls and women who are working to create amazing art everywhere in the world.
My next all female Songwriter Girl event is my annual Songwriter Girl Camp, Saturday June 24- Sunday June 25, 2017 on the famed Music Row at Scarritt Bennett in Nashville, TN. It is a life changing event both personally and career wise. We have had some very talented writer/artists attend our camps, one of them being the Grammy nominated Kelsea Ballerini. The camp offers opportunities to network, learn about yourself creatively, meet industry pros and co-write. We offer a Best Song in Camp round, where campers can submit a song. The 4 top songs chosen are performed by the writers and the best song wins a recording session at Omni Studios on Music Row on Sunday. We hope you will join us!
