EDUCATION
Godley ISD covers more than 122 square miles mostly in Johnson County , with small portions of Hood and Tarrant counties also within the district boundaries . The school district has six campuses and serves over 3,000 students .
Godley High School serves students in grades 9-12 and provides a complete array of curricular and extracurricular programs . For students in grades 7-8 , Godley Middle School provides extensive extra-curricular programs that complement the curriculum . Godley Sixth Grade Campus serves students in that grade level .
The school district is divided into three elementary attendance zones for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade : Legacy Elementary School , Pleasant View Elementary School and R . B . Godley Elementary School . In addition , full-day pre-kindergarten is available at both Pleasant View and R . B . Godley .
An alternative education program is provided for high school students through LINKS Academy .
Voter approved a $ 168.5 million bond in 2021 to fund a new fine arts wing , new competition arena and the WILD ( Wildcat Innovative Learning Destination ) at the high school to increase student capacity . That bond also included construction of the new Pleasant View campus .
The new fine arts wing includes space for the Pride of Godley band , along with high school art , theater and dance programs . Part of the new facilities is a rehearsal hall and practice rooms for a future choir program .
A new competition space for high school athletics including volleyball and basketball , the arena includes additional classrooms and a second presentation room . The space is also used for practices , rehearsals and events for cheer , dance and the indoor percussion ensemble among other student groups . In addition , there are additional locker rooms and sports medicine training rooms .
The WILD is a four-story career and technical education center with over 40 classrooms and learning spaces that serve students pursuing several pathways :
• Audio / Visual Production with a full TV studio complete with news desk and green screen
• Character and Employability Skills
• Commercial Photography
• Drones with lab space
• Education and Training with model classroom for training future educators
• Entrepreneurship including student workshop and Shop the WILD ( apparel / merchandise store )
• Floral Design including WILD
Blooms ( floral store )
• Forensic Science with lab space
• Graphic Design
• Health Science ( with Anatomy & Physiology class ) with model clinic and model doctor ’ s office as well as a science lab complete for real-world training
• iLEAD ( Information Technology ) with hardware repair workshop
• Robotics with lab space and competition area
• Scientific Research and Design with full science laboratories
• Welding with several stations and vents for safety
The WILD also houses student-run enterprises as well as the district technology department . Fourth-floor classroom space also transition to the stadium press box . In addition , space is available to add future programs including architecture , culinary and eSports .
