The 2020 Concacaf Women's Olympic Qualify-
ing tournament was a rollover for the USWNT who won
4x0 against Haiti, had an 8x0 win against Panama, and
a 6x0 win against Costa Rica, a record of 3-0-0 and
GD+18 earning the first place position in Group A and a
semifinal berth against the Group B runner-up that
could be either Mexico or Canada. Mexico won the sec-
ond place position in Group B and the right to dispute
with the U.S. for the number one spot.

On Friday, February 7th at the Dignity Health
Sports Park in Carson, Calif., in front of 11,292 fans, the U.S.
women captured a berth in the 2020 Olympics with a victory
over Mexico of four goals to nothing.
It was the fifth meeting between the USA and Mex-
ico in the Olympic Qualifying tournaments and the first
knockout round. They have met in every Olympic Qualifying
tournament the USA has participated in, but all have been
during group play.
