Waterfalls
Along scenic roadways , tucked away on a dirt road , or a short hike into the forest , you will find beautiful waterfalls and cascades . These natural wonders are scattered throughout the North Country and provide a great place to relax and explore .
FAVORITE
BEAVER BROOK FALLS : Located in Colebrook , NH . Dip your toes in the water , have a picnic , and hike to the top . Take Route 145 north for 2.4 miles . The falls will be on the right with ample parking . It ’ s even located on the ATV trails .
GARFIELD FALLS : Located in Pittsburg , NH . Take Rte 3 to Magalloway Road . Drive 13 miles on Magalloway , look for the kiosk on the left across from an outhouse . It is about 1 / 4 mile hike down to the falls . The trail is to the left of the kiosk .
THE HUNTINGTON CASCADES : Located in Dixville , NH . From Colebrook , drive 10 miles east on Rte . 26 . The parking lot will be on the right , past the Balsams and Dixville Notch . The trail follows the brook to a series of beautiful cascades extending nearly a mile .
LITTLE HELLGATE FALLS : Located in Pittsburg , NH . Named “ Hellgate ” because many a logger lost his life here breaking up log jams . Drive north on Rte 3 to Magalloway Road . Take Buckhorn Road which is the second right off Magalloway Road . You will pass through a gate after 3-4 miles and the road becomes Cedar Stream Road . Look for snowmobile trail # 137 on the left . Park on the side and hike down the snowmobile trail , crossing 2 snowmobile bridges . The trailhead is located immediately after crossing the second bridge . Very steep – use caution .

Take a scenic drive or stroll through these amazing wooden structures that have stood the test of time .
Columbia Covered Bridge Located in Columbia , NH , 4 miles south of Colebrook village on Columbia Bridge Rd .
Bacon Road Covered Bridge / Pittsburg-Clarksville Bridge Located off Rte 3 in Pittsburg village on Bacon Road .
River Road Covered Bridge Located in Pittsburg 1 mile east on River Road , 7 miles north of town .
Happy Corner Covered Bridge / Perry Stream Bridge : Located in Pittsburg off Rte 3 on Hill Rd , 6 miles north of town .
