I personally chose to study abroad to gain an
insight on how other people view global environmental issues, as well as to experience another
university culture and make friends from around
the world. I was hoping to achieve a more rounded education at the same time as learning to
cope in a different country by myself. I absolutely loved my host university. I studied at San
Francisco State University in California, and they
have a huge international society that you become immersed in, both socially and academically. The staff and teachers were welcoming,
always available to chat, and always interested
