the city, even sometimes being mistaken for a Spaniard. Teaching a four year old little Spanish girl and becoming part of their Spanish family was the most rewarding thing I had ever done. They became my family when I needed them. ! Making friends, lifelong friend, those people will stick with me forever. I achieved fluency in the language that I study, Spanish and I achieved the ability to live in a foreign country and overcome problems and issues. I intend to use my improved language ability to further my learning and study in my degree. I would more than recommend a study Abroad/Exchange to other students for many reasons; If you study a language you will improve immensely / If you don't study a language, you have the opportunity to learn one / Get to know another city and its country / Lots of travel opportunities throughout the year. Miriam Seifert France, Modern Languages, French My year abroad was a part of my degree course. I was really excited to experience a new country and culture while becoming fluent in French. I wanted to make a life-long friend whom I could share my year abroad with. It would have been more fun and then I could have shown them university life in England. It took me a while to adjust to the French way of life. It is true that it is a lot slower than in England. Longer lunches, more relaxed about nearly everything. It taught me a lot about my own culture. The best thing about living abroad was having the ability to travel easily around France and discover its beauty! At the end of my year abroad I feel like a stronger person. I had a lot to contend with in
