Option # 2 : The tree is masked out with blue tape , then using a yardstick and pencil , the watercolor paper is marked off into squares . A paper plate is used to draw a circle around the top of the tree . The boys are coloring in the inside circle squares with a warm colors , and the outside squares with a cool colors leaving white space around each square .
Photo # 4 Using a soft big brush and watercolors that have been moistened with water prior to using , paint over the crayon . You can paint right over the tape too ! Use cool watercolor over the cool crayon area and warm watercolor over the warm crayon areas . Let the cool watercolor dry before you paint the warm to avoid bleeding into each other . You can use a blow dryer to speed up process .
Photo # 5 : When the paint is dry peel off the blue tape .
Photo # 6 : Option # 1 the boys filled in the trunk with permanent marker patterns . Option # 2 the girls outlined the edges of the trees with permanent marker and left the inside white .
