In 2021 - Our communities showed their resilience and determination to get back to business and philanthropy . From free book readings and book give-aways at Gilroy Gardens , to chamber mixers , toy drives , and good old fashioned networking . Its great to see people out and about , doing their thing . And its always great to see the south county pulling together to make great things happen . Let ' s keep it going in 2022 ! Get out and about . Visit parks and wineries , small businesses and local theaters , dine out at your favorite restaurants , volunteer to help a local organization . The south county is a great place to live because of the people who live here . We look foward to seeing you out and about !
Ken Christopher and the Christopher Ranch crew came out in force for halloween in 2021 . Ken and his team performed a live reading at Gilroy Gardnes and gave out hundreds of free books to children in attendance . Ken plans to distribute more books into 2022 as well as support the community in various ways through the new Christopher Family Foundation .

Nissan of Gilroy presented Rebekah Children ' s Services and Kneaded Culinary Academy with a $ 15,000 community grant at the November 26 Chamber mixer held at the dealership . Manager Brian Verdin says the company plans to award more grants through the company ' s " G for Kids " foundation . Kneaded ' s Keshon Southy couldn ' t wait to deposit the check .
